Red Ventures Profiles
What sparked your interest in Red Ventures?
After toiling for years in the investment banking world, constantly uncomfortable due to stiff suits and prickly co-workers, I knew it was time for a change. I came to Red Ventures because I wanted to invest the skill set I had worked so hard to develop in an organization that would both value my contributions and embrace my individuality. I wanted to work with smart people who would challenge me and push me to go further and dream bigger each day. I wanted to be a part of the collective energy and enthusiasm that is apparent from the moment you walk through the front door at Red Ventures. It wasn't hard to leave stereotypes and politics behind - but I'm finding my Blackberry and HP 12-C slightly more difficult to part with.
What do you remember most about your interview process?
Dan opening the interview with, "OK, what question should I ask you first?" and then shooting down no less than six of my ideas. I guess he must have liked the seventh, 'cause I've been here ever since...
What is the best part about working at Red Ventures?
There is no typical day at Red Ventures. Each day is filled with new challenges, heightened expectations, and bigger opportunities. The pace at which we operate is astonishing. Not a moment goes by that I'm not completely engaged in what I'm doing and actively collaborating with my co-workers to find new ways of improving upon our successes.
How has your career progressed during your time at Red Ventures?
Since joining Red Ventures, I've been blessed with outstanding mentorship from a number of extremely talented individuals. The sincere, constructive feedback I've gotten has helped me to grow personally AND professionally. I've learned how impactful collaborative management can be to the successs of any project. I've learned that winning is a state of mind, and that success is a destination that you're not going to reach if you don't take a few risks along the way. Most importantly, though, I've learned that I still have a lot to learn - I'm just lucky to have some pretty amazing people here to teach me.
When is the last time you laughed out loud at work?
The real question is which of the last times I've laughed is most memorable. I spend a surprising majority of my day laughing - it's hard not to.
